A native of Rochester NY, Jenna Hanlon graduated Summa Cum Laude from SRU with a BA in Dance and a minor in Technical Theater. A current resident of NYC, Jenna balances 3 careers as a professional Modern/Contemporary Artist, Theater Technician and full-time Postural Alignment Therapist with The Egoscue Method. In the realm of dance, Jenna has created and performed a 20-minute solo at Dixon Place (NYC) with postponed performances at Greenspace (Queens) and MuCCC Festival (Rochester NY). In collaboration with Ryan McMullen, “the in between” has been performed at Dixon Place (NYC), in Richmond VA and is also slotted for two postponed performances at Dixon Place and MuCCC Festival. During COVID Jenna also performed, filmed and edited a dance film that premiered in an online show hosted by Dixon Place and will continue to be screened.
On the theatrical side, Jenna most recently returned from the UK/European Tour of Rupaul’s Drag Race Season 9 winner, Sasha Velour’s “Smoke and Mirrors” as the Spot Light Operator and Assistant Electrician, with postponed dates rescheduled for early 2021. Jenna has been with “Smoke and Mirrors” since its premier at New York Live Arts in 2019 and has since traveled throughout the US and Canada on a 6-week tour beginning in October of 2019. In January 2020, Jenna spent a month in Genoa Italy as a Lighting Contractor for the Theater install for Virgin Voyages “Scarlett Lady” cruise ship. Other credits include The Joyce and New York Live Arts (Over-Hire Technician), Baruch Performing Arts Center (Venue Manager), Waitress on Broadway (Over-Hire Costume Day Work), Greenspace (Lighting Designer), Dixon Place (Production Manager).
