SilverSneakers® Fitness Program is an innovative health, exercise and wellness program helping older adults live healthy, active lifestyles.  Your membership is available to you at little or no cost through your health plan.  The Silver Sneakers classes are "go at your own pace", which means YOU decide whether to sit or stand during exercises, and choose the intensity of your tools. Not only will Silver Sneakers improve your health, but it will also create great opportunities to get to know people and have tons of fun with our exclusive social events! Silver Sneakers Level 1 focuses on rebuilding and maintaining physical mobility as well as balance, eye-hand coordination, muscle strengthening, and rehabilitation. The Silver Sneakers Level 2 class, which will be coming to SiU soon, involves a larger cardio work-out component.

Stretch and Strength combines Pilates with standard dance stretches. It targets each muscle group and tones the muscle. Once you are warmed up, it is the best time to stretch out your tendons. If you want to get into shape but you also would like to take a structured dance class, then this is the class for you. The class is offered for dance students from 8-18, but can also be taken independently as a fitness class.

Tumbling and Fitness develops basic gymnastics skills such as tumbling, low-profile beam work (8 inches off the ground), and flexibility and conditioning exercises. The class uses contemporary dance music to incorporate rhythm into the exercise routine, developing young students' internal sense of rhythm. It is offered for students from 3-6.
